“AGAIN!”
Momil’s well-trained bellow resounded across the still grasses of the Endless Plains, causing more than a few of his prospective soldiers to start in surprise, hesitating for a few seconds, the abruptness of the command startling them. One alien in particular turned his head backwards in order to verify the order, only to feel a devastating slap to the back of the head, sending him flying headfirst into a nearby rock formation. The ancient Sayian glared at his remaining warriors.
“I. SAID. AGAIN!”
With no further urging needed, the various grunts launched into brutal 1v1 combats, utilizing all their power, skills and dirty tricks to try and utterly destroy their opponent. Momil prowled up and down the line, occasionally scribbling notes on a clipboard about the trainee’s form or power, or, in extreme cases, dispatching them with powerful strikes if he thought they were unworthy. The warriors had no choice but to continue, they knew that refusing Momil’s order meant immense pain and utter humiliation in the eyes of their peers, and as weak-willed as they all were, none of them were willing to simply accept that.
There was, however, another reason for the aliens’ stubbornness. Momil was renowned for his harshness for those who worked under him, his disregard for the physical condition of his supposedly “inferior” underlings was legendary in it’s callousness. However, those who survived with their bodies mostly intact grew massively in power and prestige, becoming some of the strongest rank-and-file soldiers in the entire Frost Force. It was a risky, but sure route to glory, and many were determined to take that road.
For now however, not many of the prospective soldiers were feeling that glory, and many had already been “disqualified”. Momil surveyed the panting warriors for several seconds, snorted in disgust and gestured them towards the supply tent for their scheduled ten minute break. Maybe in the last phase, one of these idiots would finally display something interesting….
