Ruby is one of those people who can’t keep their head in one place for any serious length of time. The only exception to this seems to be building herself varying Robot and robotic parts. Though this is mostly out of a background fear that the AI uprising is going to happen sooner rather than later and she wants to be prepared for the eventuality. When it comes to anything else however, she picks up and drops hobbies talents and skills faster than most people get into fights when drunk.
This grab bag of knowledge results in her having a little bit of everything bouncing around within her head and an unfortunate habit of just saying what’s on her mind. Often however due to the slight scatterbrained nature of the girl, she’ll start a thought out loud and leave it unfinished. Though if questioned, she’s always happy to try and explain things having the solid belief that you cannot truly understand something until you’ve explained it to someone who doesn’t understand the field in a way that they can actually grasp.
She’s quite the bubbly type however. Seemingly having a never ending supply of energy within her to keep her bouncing from one piece of fun to another without much need to pause for rest. This again might be linked to her overanxious fear that the Ai is going to wipe out her home world soon, it is a paranoid fear but it seems to be driving her to overachieve in a short space of time so that she has a chance to deal with the problem. Never mind that one Tuffle probably doesn’t have a lot of hope to deal with the giant self replicating near infinitely powered AI within their homeworld.
She’s become quite fascinated by those who fight with Ki, or magic and not technology however. Seeing them as a source of inspiration and also as a potential invaluable ally should the worst come to pass since a lot of tech based solutions to that machine will inevitably fail or be counteracted by the machine. But these more unpredictable fighters and users of magic are much more likely to be able to mount an effective resistance.
When it comes to fighting, Ruby quite predictably hides behind her machinery, letting pseudo Ai drones and a battery of technology protect her and assault her enemies while she just tries to not get hurt too badly, though this does make her surprisingly tactical in an encounter. Trying to minimise the loss to herself her allies and her drones where possible, treating each of the little things as if they were their own person and not just a jumble of code that she’d put together. Her knowledge into AI is rather impressive however, once more starting out as a means to possibly understand the giant machine under the planet and drifting into creating AI that she considers the same as people in their own right and considers their death no different to losing a friend.
Appearance Standing at a “towering” Four foot Two inches Ruby is at least tall for a Tuffle, she tries to make herself seem taller by keeping her red/orange hair rather spiked up. For preference they tend to hide their eyes behind some rather thick glasses (Designed to shield her eyes when welding) But her eyes are actually a bright red with black sclera, which is the other reason she keeps them hidden. A thin nose and rounded face finish the facial features off and give the impression at times that the intense stare of the figure is looking straight through you.
While her outfit style varies, she has a preference for red yellow and black colour schemes often looking somewhat showy with capes and nice dresses instead of something more practical. Regardless of situation she’s always found wearing gloves of varying purpose. Some with little integrated computers, others just because she thinks they are cute. Covering leggings and heavy duty boots are the call of her lower body, mostly because it means she can walk through her own workspace without getting hurt while treading on the inevitable debris that gets made when she works.
History
Ruby was born to a fairly normal tuffle family. Though they did deign to give her a strange name as they had high hopes for their child. Pushing her to study in every and any field that they could manage to get her to look into in order to find her calling because they knew in their hearts that she was going to be some kind of prodigy child. Maybe it was the pressure, or maybe it was the lack of focus, but Ruby ended up disappointing her parents rather heavily, finding no career or path for herself that she really wanted. Though she wouldn’t admit it to anyone, it was the old stories of the Zygo Terrabot and rumours of Metro Tuffle being disobedient that caused her to be so distracted. Due to the unfortunate nature of these beings, her parents had never encouraged her into the field of Ai and it was in this that she studied in secret. Finding in this strange topic the focus and attention span that she had never had before now.
She ended up being a bit of a drifter after this discovery. Knowing how little her parents approved of Ai and robotics over sciences that improved farmland, space travel, things that benefited the race as a whole. Higher callings as they called it. For Ruby they were boring callings, ones that interested her not. Though that is not to say that she didn’t and isn’t always trying. Picking up new ideas and trying the same old things over and over attempting to put the same energy into them that she did her Ai research. Though she took herself off world, scraping together the money for a place on a ship and headed towards Earth, another world in which she had heard also had impressive machinery.
Though she had not been on Earth long, she felt like she’d found home. No one cared about what she was going to do. No one cared about what she was going to become or what the other neighbours really thought about her. Heck as an alien on Earth she looked enough like their kinds to just go unnoticed. They didn’t assume she was some kind of genius, though she did seem to feel like one what with her technological understanding compared to the humanity she’d encountered so far. Better yet they had entire structures outside of the major cities with tons of scrap resources that she could just take away and recycle into things she wanted to make. Her first tentative forays into creating an AI were both disastrous and adorable at the same time, she’d learned much and failed repeatedly until her first little success. Aliquam was a small ball that could float about and basically was Ruby’s personal computer given a slightly sarcastic attitude. Quickly becoming her personal organiser and assistant as she continued to develop her Ai and the materials she created with. Making several devices for personal protection if she were ever in a fight. While her life thus far had been mostly uneventful and short. Ruby is dedicatedly finding more about Ai and how to both improve them and counteract them. Hoping that her true pursuit would be able to make her parents proud when it comes in handy in saving the planet from the inevitable rouge Ai that is Metro Tuffle.

So I have no idea what kind of costs these moves should have, any advice on that while discussing the validity of the tech would be great.
Example Solo
Staring up at the person before them, glasses shining she tried her best not to lose her smile in the current situation. It was a library she didn’t understand how this situation would even occur. Sure she was short. Sure, humans had this weird expectation that someone of her size might be a child. It was still utterly humiliating and she didn’t want to lose her temper at this probably quite inoffensive person trying to do her job. But it was a touch difficult for her to not be so agitated.
“So, let me get this straight. I’ve been coming her for months, have a library card which has on record the types of books that I have been taking out. But today, because you heard me giggling and I am rather short, you feel that I am too young to be in the library and withdrawing advanced textbooks regarding Ai neural networks. Is that about the summation of things?”
She turned to look at the small ball floating in the air just beside her shoulder and gave it a vague shrug. It in turn gave her a soft beep, one of these days she was going to have to give the little guy a voice really. He might turn out to be the more interesting of conversationalists. Though the receptionist only restated the fact that minors weren’t allowed to rent out books from the establishment. Her leg started to jig softly and she was rather quickly getting bored and agitated with this unnecessary waste of time.
“Okay then fine I’m leaving. Aliquam go look for any free pdf’s online regarding the subject matter, we’ll leave this nice lady alone with her weird rules and go enjoy our time outside somewhere nice. It’s not like everything isn’t online now days anyway! No wonder this place is always so empty and quiet.”
She stormed out of the building, more angry at this woman than she would care to admit really. They were just trying to enforce the library rules after all, but it was insulting to think that it had taken all this time for them to even decide that it would be worth ignoring the girl and letting her get out all those damn scientific books until the day she giggled at a crude drawing someone had left in an anatomy textbook. She had only been looking at the darn thing because a serious robot builder should try and imitate nature where possible, it’d already done the hard design work for you via trial and error across generations of a species. She calmed herself, smoothing down her dress and glancing at the little wrist mounted computer she’d embedded into her glove. Aliquam had already done a wonderful job pulling information and organising them into the most relevant, and as nice as that was somehow she still felt like she learned better when reading from a book.
She started off again, a slight skip in her step, rejoicing that humanity had taken such a strange interest in AI and robotics as well, and possibly had gotten further than her own kind to look at some of the artificial life forms that had been created. They would frankly be a boon to her efforts in understanding Metro tuffle and maybe if the need arose, figuring out what was causing him to turn on his makers and even dare she hoped. Fix the big guy so that he continued to be a wonderful aid to the planet instead of its undoing. Her feet led her to a little ramen stand that was surprisingly good for the prices the guy charged and had to hop on up into her usual seat before being noticed.
“Hi Yuto! Anything new on the menu?”
He chuckled and shook his head, the menu hadn’t changed since Ruby had come to know the man but she always asked him all the same. Wanting to be among the first to try anything interesting that the man came up with. he was a small scale genius when it came to the delicious and somewhat salty combos with noodles. Early on in her investigation of Earth she was shocked to find that the planet did so many things well, among them being food fit for the gods themselves, she always promised to take several recipe books back home with her when she inevitably went back to her folks to show them what she had made of herself. Maybe they’d appreciate the good food as much as she did or they’d just call it out as the waste of time it probably was.
Either way this seemed like a much better prospect to sitting in that stuffy old library reading, which was going to be the only way she’d get access to that book. Chilling in the shaded stall, a delight for the taste buds and as much free information as she could gather about making an artificial brain. Maybe this time she could figure out just what she was doing wrong with making her machines think for themselves instead of only following pre coded instructions linked to verbal commands. One could but hope. Either that or she might find another place that did the western style waffles with whipped cream. Now that would really make her day.

- [Sp] Drone Advancements - A replacement for Ki manipulation, the more advanced the technology of the drone. The better the power core within them and the bigger and better the effects programmed into them become (Following normal engagement rules, so no melee at anything other than close range)
- [Sp] 5h1eLd - Ruby's drones are ever protective of their maker, up to and including body blocking attacks heading for her. This allows them to intercept damage up to 33% of your current PL
- [Sp] He4LiN9 – Drone Ruby activates one of her small floating drones. This particular model has some rather intricate medical nanobots that can heal a target each turn it’s on the field. Running on a 1:1.5 ratio of hp to ki.
- [Sp] Jetpack! - Basically Flight, just with tech!
- [Ki-1] P3WX2 – A simple little thing, overcharging a ranged weapon to fire a much more powerful blast than normal isn’t hard really, but it looks damn flashy when you open fire with it after doing so. Requires a weapon (1-33%) PL
- [Sp] Nope Nope Nope Nope!– When someone is coming straight for you, having the option to nope on out of there is a fantastic tool. In this case a neat wrist mounted grapnel which reels itself back in after firing lets Ruby Bail on a situation. Cost is 1:1.5 ratio of stamina or Ki.
